Final Cut - Marburg ́s child and youth film festival

The best movie has no use, if it does not reach its audience. Watching a movie, the use of new media, like hearing music and so on - all that must be learned, so the believe of Bernd Neumann, the assigned representative of the Federal Government for Culture and Media.

That is also the request of the child and youth film festival FINAL CUT in Marburg. The creators of the festival have set itself the task to offer an appropriate forum for European children- and youth film productions, meanwhile for the tenth time. European productions do not have the budget for advertising, which American productions usually have.

It is a publicized aim of the festival, the viewing habits of children and young people to question, to raise awareness and thus make a contribution to cultural development.

A jury of children (age group 10-14 years) and a youth jury (15-18 years) watches at five days for each five films to explore, take appropriate means of films, to pull the audience in its spell.

That this debate still is fun is the most urgent goal of the festival makers from the Cineplex Marburg and the Authorized Service Center for Culture and Youth.
